Position: Thermoplastics Composite (TPC) Waterjet Technician – 2nd Shift
Summary:
The TPC Technician is responsible for performing and understanding all TPC processes and related parts from start to finish. This includes defect identification, processing practices, assembly methods, part marking, deburring and working on an array of non-TPC parts that flow through the department. The primary role is operator/setup person for the Flow Waterjet Mach 3 cutting machine. The TPC Technician uses process sheets and setup sheets to accurately perform job setups, full part inspections and minor machine maintenance/repairs. In addition, the TPC technician requires ongoing communication with the TPC engineers, and is fully cross-trained in all aspects of the TPC department.
Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

Operate and demonstrate an understanding of TPC machinery including the Flow Waterjet Mach 3, Relay 1000, Thermoforming 500-ton Press, and CMM.

Operate and demonstrate an understanding of auxiliary machinery including laser marking, bonding, assembly, band saw, drill press and ultra-sonic welder.

Follow work instructions, playbooks, process sheets and setup sheets as written to produce quality parts.

Inspect work to ensure conformance with blueprints using all measuring equipment.

Complete all paperwork thoroughly and neatly with a focus on the importance of lot traceability and data collection.

Perform routine preventative maintenance and set-up on all TPC and auxiliary machines and equipment.

Troubleshoot and follow best practices to prevent or solve product quality issues.

Keep the TPC area clean and in good working order; adhere to all AS9100 and EMA cleanroom requirements.

Follow the TPC Production buffer list to work on priority jobs.

Assist Quality Control with the NDT (ultra-sonic) inspection scanning on parts as needed.
