Quality Technician ( 2nd shift)
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for inspecting incoming material and updating/creating inspection documentation. The Quality Technician performs detailed 1st piece inspections, performs final inspections, first articles and creating quality/process documentation for customer approval. This position requires good working knowledge of standard measurement tools such as micrometer, calipers, height gages, and optical comparator. The position also requires use of our CMM system to verify parts. This position requires a good working knowledge of blueprint reading, good computer and documentation skills.
Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
- Inspect and document incoming material for determining part conformance to prints and specifications.
- Perform first piece inspection and final inspection
- Investigate product quality issues and determine root cause and corrective actions
- Assist with both internal and external audits.
- Work with Engineering and Production to address any product issues.
- Adhere to all AS9100 requirements.
Skills & Experience
Education, Skills & Experience:
- High School diploma required. Some college level course work preferred.
- 2 years working in a Quality Control environment preferred
- Experience with manual micrometers, calipers and optical comparators
- Demonstrated written and oral communication skills
- Ability to analyze and prioritize information.
- Use of computers and Microsof Work, Excel, Outlook
- Must be able to work independently.
